Join us for an evening of beautiful choral music, opening with Haydn's tumultuous Insanae et vanae curae followed by his iconic Nelson Mass: Missa in Angustiis ('mass for times of distress'). To follow, we will explore some stunning French choral repertoire, including Fauré's sumptuous Cantique de Jean Racine, de Bériot's playful Scène de Ballet finishing with Lili Boulanger's epic impressionist work: Veille Priére Bouddhique, with soloist James Gilchrist. The choir will be joined by a team of professional soloists alongside instrumentalists from both Hampton and LEH. The joint Choral Society is a choir of over 180 singers made up of pupils, parents, staff and friends of the two schools, which is hosted in alternate years by the Directors of Music of LEH and Hampton.
